David Gana is an interior strategist (interior design combined with value engineering). Over the course of David’s career he has developed environmentally friendly, cost effective, short and long-term interior design strategies/philosophies for both commercial and residential clients.

Working with Washington Mutual Bank, David was able to develop design strategies that saved the company millions of dollars per year. He created a work environment that met their functional needs that effectively utilized their real estate, reduced landfill waste, and improved productivity.

David achieved this by using his proprietary value engineering program when he evaluated employee functionality and used eco-friendly products in the design of their workspaces. David used the same skill set for non-profit organizations such as the YWCA’s opportunity center, creating dynamic workspaces, adding occupancy by 20% and at the same time reducing the organization’s cost of maintenance.

This skill set is not only used for commercial applications, but residential as well, creating interior environments that meet the customers’ goals while keeping within their budget. David’s philosophy is to bring design to the masses and to teach people that eco conscious designs do not have to be only for the rich, but that everyone can have a creatively designed environment within their own price-point.

David’s background has also included research and development for workplace effectiveness and construction management. He uses his knowledge in both of these areas when creating his interior designs. David resides in Los Angeles, California and is currently working on several interior design projects for private residences.

Keith Holman, and David Gana, hosts of The Eco Mod Squad and their co-host Rachel Boesing, renovate and repair single-family homes, apartment buildings, modular homes, trailers and other unique spaces…all in an environmentally conscious way.

The Eco Mod Squad will also take on the impossible jobs, where the resident feels that there is no hope, and, when possible, will be green.

Agriculture is another major focus on The Eco Mod Squad as sustainable landscaping, such as “victory” gardens, is an inexpensive and healthy way to feed the family.

But between floor plans, sketches, swatches and blueprints, there’s always room for drama. Starting with David’s “Go green or go home” attitude, and Keith’s “Why do we have to?” interjections; it’s usually Rachel who has to step in and keep these two designing mavericks in line.

The Eco Team will go out of their way to make any remolding activity lively and entertaining, as well as informative, timely and manageable.
